YourHuntFinder.com....still trucking along

YourHuntFinder.com is trucking along and just finished another edition of Live Talk Radio. We featured four groups of guests on the show this week. Team Slayer, a young and up and coming group of hunters that films hunts, joined us on the show from Kansas. Team Slayer has many members and I for one enjoyed talking to all of them. It sounds like they are dedicated young hunters with a dream. I hope they go all the way with it. We also talked to a more experience videographer from Fox Fire Outdoors by the name of Jeff. Jeff and his crew are about three years in and are planning to put out a DVD for sale in the next year or two. Team Slayer and FoxFire Outdoors traded questions, before Darren Brown from Buck Bomb called in. Buck Bomb is scent product that is sold in almost every major reatail store around the country. It is also one of the most successful scent products on the market. We are hoping to have Darren back on the show next week.

I love this job! I talk to hunters, inventors, guides and outfitters on a daily basis. When we aren't talking business, we are talking hunting. What a way to spend the day. YourHuntFinder.com is dedicated to helping get guides and outfitter information into the hands of the hunter and teaching them why even the most seasoned hunter needs a guide.

Give me a shout sometime if you have questions or just want to talk hunting.

YourHuntFinder.com's YHF Radio last Sunday

AWESOME! YHF (YourHuntFinder.com) Radio has been off air for about 7 months and just entered the game again last Sunday. The show went off with out a hitch and had two great guests on it. Dan (Commish) from BeyondBackPacks.com and Jeff Harwick from OnThe GroundOutdoors.com. I would like to personally thank these two guests for taking their time to be on the show and tell all of our listeners about their hunting wares. If you mist the show, you can catch the recorded version HERE.

Next Sunday's show should be just as good as I am lining up some great guests to talk hunting. Team Slayer, a fledgling video hunting team is in the works and Kelly Garmon from Hawglite is penciled in. I would like to invite all of you to call into the show if you are in your blind and have a cell phone. Would love to hear from you hunting live in the field.

Remember to go by YourHuntFinder.com regulary and check out the updates as they are starting to happen regularly. Happy Hunting Season to you all, and to all I wish you meat in the freezer.

Sincerely,

Justin Cobb

Trophy Bll Elk harvested @ Circle K Guest Ranch

Currently, I am preparing for this Sunday’s YourHuntFinder.com YHF Live Radio Show. Owner and outfitter Chris Vaughn of Adventures Wild will be with us. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, it will soon. Chris and his guides are the outfitters to the celebrity hunters like Waddell and Bass Pro Shop’s Next Generation. Chris also hunts three species of turkeys.
Circle K Guest Ranch is located in the heart of Unit 71 in Colorado and has opportunities for Elk, mule deer and turkey. Circle K ranch offers top notch lodging and 1000’s of acres of San Juan National forest to roam and hunt. Circle K Guest Ranch has all kinds of outdoor activities. Go by YourHuntFinder.com and check out Circle K Guest Ranch and stay tuned to YHF Radio for out live interview with its’ owner Al Cannon.
A special thanks goes out to Greg Brownlee of Blogging the Outdoors. Greg is a former radio disc jockey and has agreed to help with YHF radio by creating some of our sound bites and commercials for out outfitters. Greg’s help has helped to make YHF radio one of the best outdoors radio programs on BlogTalkRadio.com. I encourage all of you to check out his blog at http://www.bloggingtheoutdoors.com/ . YourHuntFinder.com is proud to welcome Circle K Guest Ranch

It is time for another bog entry. I feel the need to write due to the fact that YourHuntFinder.com has added another outfitter to list of clients. Circle K Guest Ranch in Colorado has joined YourHuntFinder.com. I spent the whole of yesterday designing their site within YourHuntFinder. Circle K Guest Ranch is not just your run of the mill outfitter service. It is the full meal deal when it comes to outdoor adventures. This facility has options to enjoy year around with activities such as: elk & mule deer hunting, trout fishing, horseback riding, hiking, etc…. The activities are endless, but when coupled with the awesome living quarters and staff, Circle K Ranch becomes one of the most premier outdoor adventure locations in the United States.

This operation is taken on by owner Al Cannon with help from his son & daughter. He has 77 acres located smack dab in the middle of unit 71 in Colorado. If you are an elk hunter, that made your ears perck up because Colorado elk hunters know all about unit 71 as it is one of the best units in Colorado for harvesting a majestic bull elk. One might ask, “77 acres! How am I going to find a bull elk on 77 acres?” Al’s property is surrounded by national forest land. Hunters get to rome 1000’s of acres in search of the mighty bull elk and the guides know just were to find them.
The Circle K Guest Ranch has a multitude of hunting opportunities from the camping and doing it yourself options to the all inclusive guided and lodging choice. No matter your preference, Al Cannon and his team will make your experience at the Circle K Ranch a memory to last a lifetime.
If you would like to check out more about the Circle K Guest Ranch, you can drop by YourHuntFinder.com’s homepage and simply click their banner located front and center. If you want to read more about the facility and the outdoor adventures that they offer you can visit the Circle K Guest Ranch Website at http://www.ckranch.com/.
I have learned that many outfitters are nervous to take a shot on the new guy in the marketing arena due to the fact that they have been burned before. For anyone reading, I want you to know that this is no fly by night operation. I have spent the past three months and almost every waking hour creating, designing and implementing YourHuntFinder.com. It is my intention to tell every hunter on the planet of its existence and continue to work to make the sight as friendly as possible.
YHF’s Blog Talk Radio show is just around the corner, so pencil in 4pm CST March 30th. The show will spotlight Circle K Ranch and Antler Addictions Outfitters. We will also have Greg Brownlee on the show. He has a fantastic blog called Blogging the Outdoors. Henry Dusek, professional taxidermist from Old Friends Taxidermy, will be here to give us some tips on how to properly prepare harvests in the field with the intent of taxidermy.
Thanks for reading YourHuntFinder.com’s blog. Add it to your favorites list and come back to see what is new at YourHuntFinder.com frequently. Happy hunting and I’ll see you outside!

Blogging....Hunting.....Outdoors....What do they have in common?

Blogs….who reads this stuff? You might be surprised what you can find in the world of blogging for hunting. Many hunters, in the off season, like to write about their experiences in hunting. I have searched the web and found several blogs that are of interest.
First, what is a blog? A blog is an online manuscript that can be formed into whatever its’ author wishes. It could be a book, diary, magazine or just a place to blow off some steam. There are many subjects and writers out there. In fact, I read in one place that there were millions of bloggers around the world.

Recently, I spoke with one such blogger. Greg Brownlee. Greg is the author of “Blogging the Outdoors”. The title alone is enough to get me to read the contents. Greg is from South Carolina and has a passion for media & the outdoors. He has been in radio and is currently producing his own podcasts which will be available on the web in the near future. Greg Brownlee’s real passion is spending time hunting and fishing. He loves cat fishing and deer/turkey hunting among other outdoor activities.
YourHuntFinder.com is proud to include Greg’s blog on its website. Its content are worth your time and the author is great guy. YHF would like to cordially invite you to check out “Blogging the outdoors” at http://www.bloggingtheoutdoors.com/ or on our website www.yourhuntfinder.com/blogfeeds.html .
YourHuntFinder.com’s Live Talk Radio will be interviewing Greg Brownlee about his blog on March 30th, 2008 @ 4:00pm so be sure to stop by and listen to this outdoors blogging author. Live call ins are welcome and encouraged. Check my profile for the phone number and future scheduled shows. www.blogtalkradio.com/yourhuntfinder.

My Soap Box for Today 3-11-08

It may help to clarify what some of these pricings include to understand why hunts cost what they do. I will agree that some outfitters have high prices, but many times the experience is worth the money. Here are some things to consider when looking at pricing for hunts. This is not just for Turkey, but for any hunt.
1. Land - they aren't making anymore of it and from the looks of it, us humans are beginning to take up more and more of the globe. This is simply supply and demand. The lack of supply will drive up the price. Many of you may remember what it cost to lease property 20 years ago. Compared to now, these prices have sky rocketed. Thus up goes the price of available hunts. Is this greedy land owners or simple economic inflation? Compare prices for hunting from 20 years ago to real estate from the era? Now look at today......not so far off after all is it?
2. Quality of Experience: Many times outfitters have put enormous amounts of time and energy into getting a property ready to hunt. This preperation is to ensure that the hunter has a topnotch experience. this is what I call the "behind the scenes" work. Who do you think fills those feeders, repairs those blinds, marks those paths, cleans up after your visit, cooks, puts the hunter on the animal of their choice or at the very least tries his heart out? There are cheaper routes to go than to spend $500-$1000 for a three day hunt. It is called, do it yourself. There is nothing wrong with that method, but so many of us have become so busy with our family, work and friends that we simply do not have the time to manage our hunting areas. Outfitters manage these things for the hunter.
3. Today's hunts have begun to use the word "All Inclusive" as if we are going on a cruise or something. However, yesterdays hunts aren't as popular anymore. Many guys want to hunt all day and have a nice place to relax, hang with their hunting buddies and tell stories next to camp fire. In other words, it isn't just about the hunt. The overall experience comes into play. The atomosphere of the lodge or camp, the food that is prepared, the service and personality of the guide. It has turned into a mini-vacation for many hunters. Ask yourself, "How much would it cost me to stay in a bed and breakfast for 3 days and 2 nights?" and kill a nice buck or trophy gobbler.
4. Commericalization: It seems that no hobby or sport is safe from it anymore. We are breeding bigger deer, putting up high fences and even feeding the animals a scientifically developed diet. It all cost money. Then we advertise our animals to hunters, which the population of the sport is continuing to grow. More cost.....more demand....less supply! There you have it.....my soap box for the day.
I hope this sheds some light on why hunting has increased in price. These are by no means all of the factors, but these are major points. Cheap leases can still be found, but hunters have to search high and low to find those hidden gems and more often than not a good thing ends sooner than we would like due to people figuring out what they have.
So what does the hunter do with prices for hunting where they are? He plans his hunts, budgets for his hunting and researches the possibilities. Sounds just like what we have all ways done as hunters that don't own our land and manage it for hunting.
Happy hunting everyone! These tidbits of information are not meant to offend anyone. They are simply stated to point out the difference between yesterday and today.
After that long explanation or pricing and hunting, I would like to say that I know of two places here in Texas offer a fantastic experience and killer Spring Turkeys for very reasonable prices ranging from $550.00-$850.00/gun. Both are "All Inclusive" 3 day 2 night hunts. One of which I know includes 2 gobblers and free range of the property. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll be happy to fill you in on the details. My email is info@yourhuntfinder.com.
